Privacy policy
porto.boats runs no user accounts, no newsletter and no comment section. There is very little to collect, and this page says exactly what happens with the little there is.
What we collect directly
Nothing you type. The site has no forms, no login and no tracking pixels of our own. Standard server logs from our host record the requested address, a timestamp, the referring page and the browser user agent. They are used to keep the site running and to spot broken links, and they are not used to build a profile of you.
If you email hello@porto.boats we keep the message so we can reply and, where relevant, correct the guide. We do not add your address to any list.
Third party services on the page
| Service | What it does | Data implications |
|---|---|---|
| GetYourGuide booking widget | Shows live availability and prices | Loads from GetYourGuide servers, can set its own cookies and see your IP address and the page you are on. Governed by GetYourGuide's privacy policy. |
| Affiliate links via /go/ | Redirects to a partner with our partner ID | The partner may set a cookie to attribute a later booking to this site. We never see your booking or payment details. |
| Font files | Renders the site's typefaces | Self hosted from our own domain. No request goes to Google Fonts. |
We embed no advertising network, no social widgets and no session recording. If you want to avoid the booking widget entirely, block third party scripts in your browser: the guides remain fully readable.
Legal basis and retention
Server logs are processed on the basis of legitimate interest in operating and securing the site, and are retained for a short period by our host before deletion. Emails are kept for as long as the correspondence is useful, and then deleted. We do not sell or share data with brokers, and we run no cross site advertising.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for correction or deletion, or object to processing. Since the only records we normally hold are emails you sent us, such a request is usually handled in a single message. Write to hello@porto.boats.
You may also complain to a supervisory authority. In Portugal that is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
For data held by a booking platform after you follow a partner link, contact that platform: their policy governs it, not ours.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page. Contact for anything on it: hello@porto.boats.
