Sailing 360º review: what you actually get on their Porto boats

Who Sailing 360º are

Sailing 360º operates out of Rua da Praia 430 in Vila Nova de Gaia, which is the address of Douro Marina in Afurada, and prints Portuguese tourism registration RNT AAT 91/2020 in its own site footer. Bookings run through the FareHarbor system, and the site sells in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French.

The fleet is the reason to look at them at all. Seven hulls appear across the cruise pages in September 2026: Mathilda, a classic boat for 18; Orcinus, a yacht for 14; Bluedays, a speedboat for 13; Nabucco VI for 12; Marleomar and Skyfall, yachts for 10 each; and Calitor, a sailboat for 8. Few Porto operators publish that many boats from one pontoon.

Where they depart

Every listed departure is from Douro Marina on the Gaia bank, just downstream of Ponte da Arrábida and roughly 3 km from Cais da Ribeira. What Sailing 360º offer, and what it costs

Two shared products carry the business: a wine-tasting cruise and a tonic and cheese cruise, both two hours. Everything else is a private booking on a named boat, priced per group and scaling from an evening on the river to a full day upstream.

Included and not included

• Included per the operator's cruise pages (Sept 2026): one welcome drink per person, certified crew, fuel, insurance, VAT and a Spotify connection for your own music.
• Optional at extra cost: a welcome table of food, ordered when you book.
• Charged separately: a service and cleaning fee of €7 per person if you bring your own food or drink on board.
• Stated on the site: cruises are not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
• A promo code, SAILING25 for 20 per cent, was displayed on the site in September 2026. Codes come and go, so try it and do not count on it.

Sailboat or motor boat

Calitor is the only sailboat, and its published route runs Douro Marina to Ponte Luís I and back down to Foz do Douro. A masted boat turns at Ponte Luís I, so the six bridges itineraries the company sells run on the motor boats. What travellers say about Sailing 360º

Tripadvisor showed 4.8 out of 5 from 141 reviews in September 2026, placing the company 24th of 176 boat tours and water sports listings in Porto. That is a solid score built on a mid-sized review base, not a handful of five-star entries.

The praise clusters tightly. Reviewers name individual crew and hosts, describe the boats as clean and roomy for the passenger count, and mention easy parking at the marina and a warm reception on the pontoon. Flexibility comes up often: playing your own playlist, adding a person late, adjusting the route on a private booking.

The negative reviews are worth reading rather than counting. The recurring operational complaint is the booking system: people describe confirmations that did not carry through and a departure missed as a result. Others report the on-board snacks varying between trips and a speaker that stopped working. One review raises a serious concern about a skipper's behaviour during a cruise. Single reports are not a pattern, but they belong in a fair summary.

Booking Sailing 360º: direct or through a platform

Direct booking on sailing-360.com goes through FareHarbor and is the only channel where the whole fleet appears, so it is the route for anyone who wants a named boat. Platforms carry the shared departures and are easier for comparing times across several operators on one date.

• Check the voucher names Douro Marina, Rua da Praia 430, Afurada, and not a Ribeira quay.
• Check the boat name if you booked for a specific hull. Calitor and Mathilda are different trips.
• Check whether your price is per person or per boat, especially on sunset and romantic bookings.
• Check the departure time against sunset for your date, not against the word sunset.
• Ask about the €7 per person cleaning fee before packing a picnic.

The site does not publish a plain cancellation window. Given the booking-system complaints in reviews, keep the confirmation email, reconfirm by WhatsApp the day before, and prefer a channel with free cancellation if the weather looks marginal.

Alternatives to Sailing 360º

• Mar Douro Sailing Tours, from the same marina, runs two boats with an owner-skipper and publishes flat per-boat prices. Better for couples who want one clear number.
• A quay-side six bridges cruise from Cais da Ribeira costs a fraction as much, lasts 50 minutes and needs no taxi to Gaia. Different product, same bridges.

Checked in practice

• Allow an hour to reach Afurada from central Porto in summer traffic, and arrive 20 minutes early. Operators at this marina use different gates.
• Confirm which boat you are on when you arrive. Several Sailing 360º hulls can be alongside at once and they board from different fingers.
• Boarding is a step down onto a deck from a floating pontoon, and the pontoon moves. There is no step-free option.
• Soft soles or bare feet on deck. Bring a windproof layer even in August, because the estuary is cooler than the Ribeira.
• On the 18-seat classic boat, seats near the stern get engine noise and the best light; the bow gets spray at the river mouth.
• The welcome drink is one per person. Anything beyond that is a bar order or your own bottle plus the cleaning fee.
• Photos: be ready at the turn below Ponte Luís I, because the boat swings once and heads back down.
• Bring a small bag. Cockpit and cabin space on the smaller yachts fills fast with eight people aboard.
