Who Week&Yacht are

Week&Yacht is the trading name of Week&Yacht, Atividades Turísticas, Lda, registered at Praça Manuel Guedes 13, 4.º Sala 15, 4420-193 Gondomar under NIF 516 286 625, with RNAAT number 287/2021 in the national register of tourist entertainment operators. That registration is the licence a Portuguese boat tour operator is legally required to hold, and it is printed in the site footer, which is more than several competitors manage.

The company started in 2021 and states on its about page that it runs 365 days a year with WhatsApp support around the clock. Everything it sells is private: there is no shared seat product, no fixed timetable beyond the departure windows, and no second group on the boat.

Boarding is at Douro Marina in Afurada, Vila Nova de Gaia, at a gate the company calls Porta B, where a crew member meets you at your tour time. The site says a WhatsApp reminder with the exact address goes out 24 hours before departure. Douro Marina sits on the south bank about 500 m inside the river mouth, which is why the sunset product reaches the Atlantic horizon so quickly.

Week&Yacht prices: three tours, all per boat

Week&Yacht prices the whole boat, not the seat. Six people on the six bridges tour pay about €42 each; two people pay €125 each. Work that out before comparing it with the €18 Six Bridges Cruise on the big shared boats.

What is included, per the operator

  • The boat exclusively for your group, up to six guests.
  • A guided tasting of four Port wines, plus Portuguese white wine and sparkling wine.
  • A traditional charcuterie board with enchidos, cheese, olives and fresh bread.
  • Still water and soft drinks.
  • A professional skipper, fuel and insurance.

The company describes this as one price with no drinks menu on board. That is the real difference against most of the private charter market in Porto, where a welcome drink is included and everything after it is charged. A €250 all-inclusive boat for six is not the same product as a €150 open boat where the wine is extra.

The routes

The six bridges tour heads upstream from Douro Marina past Ponte da Arrábida, along the Gaia cellars and Cais da Ribeira, under the Dom Luís I Bridge, then on past Ponte do Infante, Ponte Maria Pia, Ponte de São João and Ponte do Freixo before returning to the start. The sunset run goes the other way, west along the Foz do Douro seafront to the river mouth where the Douro meets the Atlantic, which is where the light actually is. The up river trip trades the city for quieter water and adds a swimming stop.

What travellers say

Week&Yacht is the most visible small private operator in Porto’s search results, appearing on its own site, on Instagram and TikTok, on Portuguese experience retailers such as Odisseias, and across Tripadvisor product listings from Douro Marina. Visibility and verified feedback are not the same thing, and the gap is worth naming.

The operator’s own tour pages displayed a 5 out of 5 score across 283 reviews and a line saying 97% of travellers recommend it when checked in September 2026. That is a widget on the company’s own website, so treat it as a claim rather than an independent rating: it could not be tied to a specific public platform listing with the same review count.

Recurring themes across public reviews of Douro Marina private operators, Week&Yacht included, are consistent: the price is judged good for what arrives on the table, the crew is remembered by name, and the sunset slot is the one people say they would repeat. Aggregated Google reviews for the brand describe a boat kept in good condition and generous, good quality snacks on a four hour trip.

Booking Week&Yacht: pay on board, cancel free

The booking model is unusual and, for a traveller, favourable. The site takes a date and time with instant confirmation and no online payment: you pay on board at the end of the tour, by card or cash. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure, and the operator states it refunds in full or reschedules if the weather turns unsafe.

Practical consequence: there is no deposit to lose, so booking early costs nothing. In September 2026 the calendar already showed dates fully or partially booked on the sunset product. Sunset sells out first, as it does everywhere in Porto.

  • Check the voucher or WhatsApp confirmation names Douro Marina and Porta B, not Cais da Ribeira or Cais de Gaia.
  • Confirm the exact departure time for the sunset tour, since it moves with the season and is not a fixed hour.
  • Say your group size honestly. Six is the hard cap and infants count as bodies on a small boat.
  • Ask in advance if anyone has a dietary restriction; the charcuterie board is the food, and there is no menu to swap from.

Alternatives if six seats are not enough

  • ZapDouro: private 2 hour yacht cruises from €270 per group up to 10, from Marina do Freixo, with a much larger public review record.
  • Douro Charter: motor yachts for 10 to 14 at €360 to €1,400 per boat for two hours, for groups that outgrow a six-seater.
  • The full private charter picture: small open boats from €150, sailing yachts from €270 and proposal packages from around €405, per the operators’ sites in September 2026.
  • A shared sunset cruise if it is only the two of you and €300 is more than the evening is worth.

For a couple the arithmetic is stark: €300 buys a private sunset with four Port wines and a food board, or roughly ten shared sunset tickets. The private boat wins on quiet, light and the freedom to ask the skipper to stop, and loses badly on price per head. Groups of five or six flip that comparison completely.

Practical checks at Douro Marina

  • Search the operator name on Google Maps rather than the marina name. The marina is large and Porta B is not obvious from the road.
  • Allow 10 to 15 minutes by taxi from Cais da Ribeira, or walk the riverside path west from Cais de Gaia for about 3 km under Ponte da Arrábida.
  • Bring a windproof layer for the sunset trip. The boat sails toward the open river mouth and the temperature drops as soon as you clear the Arrábida.
  • Small boats mean pontoon boarding with a step down. Anyone with limited mobility should say so on WhatsApp before booking, not on the day.

Our verdict

What works

  • Genuinely all-inclusive: four Port wines, white, sparkling, soft drinks and a food board in the price
  • No online payment and free cancellation up to 24 hours, so an early booking costs nothing
  • Licensed and identifiable: RNAAT 287/2021 and company details published in the footer
  • Sunset departure is timed to the light, not to a fixed hour on a timetable
  • Douro Marina start puts the river mouth minutes away, with free parking on site

What to watch

  • Hard cap of six guests, which rules out most group bookings
  • The boat itself is never identified: no model, length or onboard facilities published
  • The 5 out of 5 across 283 reviews is a badge on the operator’s own site, not a verified platform rating
  • €250 to €300 for two people is expensive per head against any shared cruise
  • No fixed price published for proposals or hen and stag parties

Questions travellers ask

Is this the official Week&Yacht website?

No. porto.boats is an independent guide to Porto boat trips with no commercial link to Week&Yacht. The operator’s own site is weekandyacht.pt, and weekandyacht.com redirects to it. We do not sell their tours; the links on this page lead to our partner platform for comparing private boats in Porto.

How much does a Week&Yacht private boat tour cost?

Per the operator’s site in September 2026: €250 for the two hour Six Bridges Tour, €300 for the two hour Sunset Experience and €500 for the four hour Up River Experience. All three prices are per boat for up to six guests, not per person, and include the skipper, fuel, insurance, four Port wines, white and sparkling wine, soft drinks and a charcuterie board.

Where does Week&Yacht depart from?

Douro Marina in Afurada, Vila Nova de Gaia, at the gate the company calls Porta B, where a crew member meets you at your tour time. The operator sends a WhatsApp reminder with the exact address 24 hours before departure and suggests searching its own name on Google Maps rather than the marina’s.

How many people fit on a Week&Yacht boat?

Six, and the site repeats that limit on every tour page. One Portuguese retail listing advertises the same brand for up to eight, so confirm your headcount in writing before booking. Capacity limits on Portuguese tour boats are set by the vessel’s licence and include children and infants.

Can I book Week&Yacht online?

Yes. The site has a live calendar with instant confirmation and no online payment: you pay on board at the end of the tour by card or cash, and can cancel free up to 24 hours before departure. Some dates in September 2026 already showed as fully booked, so the sunset slot is worth reserving early.

Is Week&Yacht worth it?

For four to six people, yes: about €42 to €50 a head buys a private boat with a genuine Port wine tasting and food, which is close to what a shared cruise plus drinks costs. For two people it is a €125-a-head evening, worth it for an occasion and hard to justify otherwise. Groups of seven or more should look at ZapDouro or Douro Charter instead.
