Who Week&Yacht are

Week&Yacht is the trading name of Week&Yacht, Atividades Turísticas, Lda, registered at Praça Manuel Guedes 13, 4.º Sala 15, 4420-193 Gondomar under NIF 516 286 625, with RNAAT number 287/2021 in the national register of tourist entertainment operators. That registration is the licence a Portuguese boat tour operator is legally required to hold, and it is printed in the site footer, which is more than several competitors manage.

The company started in 2021 and states on its about page that it runs 365 days a year with WhatsApp support around the clock. Everything it sells is private: there is no shared seat product, no fixed timetable beyond the departure windows, and no second group on the boat.

Boarding is at Douro Marina in Afurada, Vila Nova de Gaia, at a gate the company calls Porta B, where a crew member meets you at your tour time. The site says a WhatsApp reminder with the exact address goes out 24 hours before departure. Douro Marina sits on the south bank about 500 m inside the river mouth, which is why the sunset product reaches the Atlantic horizon so quickly.

Week&Yacht prices: three tours, all per boat

The company describes this as one price with no drinks menu on board. That is the real difference against most of the private charter market in Porto, where a welcome drink is included and everything after it is charged. A €250 all-inclusive boat for six is not the same product as a €150 open boat where the wine is extra.

The routes

The six bridges tour heads upstream from Douro Marina past Ponte da Arrábida, along the Gaia cellars and Cais da Ribeira, under the Dom Luís I Bridge, then on past Ponte do Infante, Ponte Maria Pia, Ponte de São João and Ponte do Freixo before returning to the start. The sunset run goes the other way, west along the Foz do Douro seafront to the river mouth where the Douro meets the Atlantic, which is where the light actually is. The up river trip trades the city for quieter water and adds a swimming stop.

The operator’s own tour pages displayed a 5 out of 5 score across 283 reviews and a line saying 97% of travellers recommend it when checked in September 2026. That is a widget on the company’s own website, so treat it as a claim rather than an independent rating: it could not be tied to a specific public platform listing with the same review count.

Recurring themes across public reviews of Douro Marina private operators, Week&Yacht included, are consistent: the price is judged good for what arrives on the table, the crew is remembered by name, and the sunset slot is the one people say they would repeat. Aggregated Google reviews for the brand describe a boat kept in good condition and generous, good quality snacks on a four hour trip.

Booking Week&Yacht: pay on board, cancel free

The booking model is unusual and, for a traveller, favourable. The site takes a date and time with instant confirmation and no online payment: you pay on board at the end of the tour, by card or cash. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure, and the operator states it refunds in full or reschedules if the weather turns unsafe.

Practical consequence: there is no deposit to lose, so booking early costs nothing. In September 2026 the calendar already showed dates fully or partially booked on the sunset product. Sunset sells out first, as it does everywhere in Porto.

Practical checks at Douro Marina

• Search the operator name on Google Maps rather than the marina name. The marina is large and Porta B is not obvious from the road.
• Allow 10 to 15 minutes by taxi from Cais da Ribeira, or walk the riverside path west from Cais de Gaia for about 3 km under Ponte da Arrábida.
• Bring a windproof layer for the sunset trip. The boat sails toward the open river mouth and the temperature drops as soon as you clear the Arrábida.
• Small boats mean pontoon boarding with a step down. Anyone with limited mobility should say so on WhatsApp before booking, not on the day.
